Gísli Bjarki Guðmundsson

May

Gísli has the looks of a viking, is ruff on the outside but soft on the inside.  He can turn a bad day into a fantastic one within a blink of an eye, just by smiling and emanating his tranquil aura. Gísli, as so many of our staff, is a member of the Icelandic Rescue Teams, so you are in good hands with him.  On his days off Gísli sings with the local male choir “Bartónar” in downtown Reykjavik along with his fellow guides Sveinn and Tryggvi.

Gunilla or “Nilla” is a Swedish girl although she has the looks of a Mediterranean.  Nilla’s background is in investment banking but she decided to take a u-turn and now focuses on enjoying nature and people through her guiding work and expeditions around the world.  Her travels take her to remotes areas of the globe, e.g. to Antarctica where she has been sailing on a sailship doing what she loves the most – taking wildlife and nature photos.

Arnar Hugi Birkisson

Son of Þóra. Arnar is an easy going dedicated outdoorsman. He has been guiding at Inside the Volcano since 2015 but also works at the E.R. in Reykjavik’s City hospital. A born traveler, he is quick with a joke and likes to smile. In his free time, he likes to volunteer at the HSSK search and rescue team. Due to his immense height, he is always the first to know if it starts to rain. The only thing he lavas more than working for Inside the Volcano is terrible puns.
