Private Helicopter Tour

We offer private helicopter transfer to Þríhnúkagígur, which are ideal for those in a hurry or who aren’t interested in hiking to the roots of the volcano. Ideal for a group of 4-6 people.

The helicopter departs from Reykjavík domestic airport (located close to the center of Reykjavík) and it’s possible to do the tour early in the morning, at 8:30, or in the afternoon. The afternoon tour departure time depends on the time of year.

Helicopter tour duration is about 2 hours in total (40 minutes inside the crater). The flight is approximately 12-15 minutes each way.

We try our best to be flexible and if the weather forecast is not looking promising at the time of your booked tour, we will:

• Try to change the time on the same day (e.g. leave for the tour in the afternoon instead of the morning)
• Offer you a different date (e.g. the day before or the day after)

If neither of these options is suitable, you could take the standard hiking tour (if available) or get a full refund.
