Helicopter tour
The helicopter departs from Reykjavík domestic airport (located close to the center of Reykjavík) and it’s possible to do the tour early in the morning, at 8:30, or in the afternoon. The time of the afternoon tour depends on the season.
- Helicopter tour duration: About 2 hours in total (40 minutes inside the crater). Helicopter flight approximately 12-20 minutes each way.
- If your desired date isn’t available on the website we recommend sending us an email. We often have more days available than those shown on the website.
Unpredictable weather
We try our best to be flexible and if the weather forecast is not looking promising at the time of your booked tour, we will:
- try to change the time on the same day (e.g. leave for the tour in the afternoon instead of the morning)
- offer you a different date (e.g. the day before or the day after)
If neither of these options is suitable, you could take the standard hiking tour (if available) or get a full refund.
